Invasive Plants

Monitoring our ponds for invasive plants is something that we have been focused on for a number of years.  There are currently five invasive plants listed by Maine law as major threats to our beautiful Maine waters.  Photos of these five plants are shown below.  Please click onto the link below to view the VLMP’s presentation entitled “What You Should Know About Invasive Plant Patrol”.  We always need volunteers for be trained and/or paired with experienced monitors.  If you are interested in helping monitor our ponds, please contact Mike and Irene Krysko at mkrysko@verizon.net

The one addition you could make is that we always need new volunteers to be trained and/or paired with an experienced monitor, and if interested they should contact Mike and Irene and their contact info.
